Scheduling Reoccurring Monthly Shifts
We have several clients who have reoccurring meetings over the course of the year.
Many times these meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month or the 4th Friday of every month.
Currently in ShiftPlanning when scheduling and choosing repeat options- the ONLY option for monthly meetings is 'Monthly (same date)'. I choose that option because I have no other choice, but then I have to go into position view for that client, and one month at a time, move the meeting to the correct date. The 4th Friday is not going to occur on the same date every month. These meetings are scheduled out for an entire calendar year - so that's 12 months, 12 times I have to do this for every one of these meetings for every client who uses monthly meetings.
Having the option to schedule monthly reoccurring meetings based on 1st Wednesday, 3rd Monday, etc., would be very helpful.

Hi Whitney,
Thank you for submitting your idea. Could you please provide more information to which specific feature it is related so we can have a better understanding of your need?
Thank you,
Suzana

I have been requesting this feature - the ability to edit the end date of a reoccurring shift - for almost four years. Half the time when I speak with Humanity IT about it the rep sounds so surprised and shocked that the website doesn't allow this feature (how is it I know more about their product than they do???). But, if you search online you'll see complaints about this issue which pre-date my requests - so the issue has been going on for quite a few years and still, Humanity has negected to address it.
Humanity IT have told me my only options are to 1) create a brand new reoccuring shift which would pick up where the existing shift leaves off, or 2) delete the entire series and recreate an entirely new reoccuring shift with the new end date.
Here is my fix for it - I go to the 2nd shift in the series and delete that shift and all FUTURE/ONGOING shifts after that point. Then I return to the original shift, which, because all future shifts have been deleted, has now been returned a one-time only status, and re-enter a new end date. It's not much better than having to recreate the entire series all over again, but it is a little bit faster than recreating everything from scratch.
One caution on this - occassionally Humanity gets schizo and will show duplicates of this same reoccuring shift after using the above fix. I have tried deleting the duplicate entry only to have the entire series disappear and I'm back to square one. I have not been able to pin down what causes this - it happens sometimes and doesn't happen other times. If this happens to you I would suggest refreshing before deleting to see if that clears it up - and/or even logging out and logging back in.
Hope this helps! And Humanity - this is supposed to be a scheduling program! We should be able to edit the end date of a reoccurring shift! Get off your duff and fix it!!
