ShiftPlanning & Time ClockPosted on November 21, 2017. 3 Comments
These suggestions are very important to me.
I work in Field Marketing and it's very hard to find a software that covers our needs.
This comes pretty close, but some things are still a bit annoying.
If you could make these enhancements I would stay as a permanent customer and I also know many people in the industry who would sign up- monster energy, Coca Cola, skinny girl etc,
1) Ability to add an attachment to a shift: I have a team that attends events, many event contacts will send me a map and parking pass which I need to give to whoever is working that particular event. Or I may need to ask my employee to download this form to have the contact sign and say they received the delivery when we're dropping product off.
2) Multiple Stops:
For the needs of someone in the Field Marketing business (and there are thousands of companies who know employe Field Marketing Teams)
We need more than just clock in clock out.
Our shifts start and end at our storage facility. Where we store our barrel coolers, flyers and product.
So we need Check in and Check out for that. And ideally for them not to be allowed to check in or check out unless their phones indicate that they are in that gps radius.
For me it's (40 South Mall Building 5 Plainview, NY 11803)
Then we need stops:
Arrived-when they arrived at the first event they have scheduled for the day
Leaving-when they are leaving the event
This would include their gps location so we can make sure they did not leave the event early or get their late, but should not change the hours they worked.
as many stops as needed we should be able to add. and all we need is a time stamp and their gps location.
then clock in and out for breaks - since breaks are unpaid.
So basically, if an employee has the following shift. l
9am-5:30 pm shift
Food tasting event 12-3:30 Brooklyn Bridge Park
I need to see
clock in at 40 south mall (Storage) by 9:30am
Check in to stop 1: at Brooklyn bridge part by 12pm
Checking out of stop 1: no soon than 3:30 pm
Clock out for break: 3:30
clock in from break 4:00
Clock out from shift @ storage 5:30 pm
Making the total hours reported on that day = 8 hours
3) Ability to color code shifts, not just employee positions.
In Field Marketing we run shifts that are never the same. It's not like scheduling employees to work at the mall.
Some shifts are for upscale events.
Some for deliveries
Some for manual labor
some for giant music festivals
when we look at our calendar we like to see very quickly how many large events we have this month vs. deliveries.
So we like to color code them.
We also like to see the title of the shift in the calendar view with the hours of the shift underneath it.
4) Send a reminder to employees who haven't clocked out of their shift 15 mins after their shift end time. They have the opportunity to press reject, because in many cases in events they end up working later than originally scheduled, but for the few times they just forget this will remind them to clock out and not keep the clock running all night.
